![]() Now the wierd part, after resetting and restarting the program. ![]() Process Lasso itself detects no stuttering, no changes in responsiveness. It does affect METRO EXODUS somehow (one large freeze every 3 seconds). This does not affect other apps like Chrome, or Firefox or Thunderbird. Stopping the Process Lasso CORE process yields no changes, the GUI is still sluggish. I then proceeded to reset configurations to default. Infact, this problem started when Process Lasso was visible on one my screens and Metro Exodus was minimized in the other. Weirdly, there is no rule affecting Explorer. Its like it takes up to 3 seconds to open menus, change options, etc. Quote from: tamalero on September 17, 2019, 01:48:39 AM The issue: Since today, out of nowhere, Process Lasso started to lag horribly. Windows: Windows 10 2.356 X64 Attached DX Diag for Hardware Specs and other information. Information: Process Lasso Pro: Version 9.3.0.44 圆4 (used 9.2.X.X before and updated today, same issue). The program still did show some fixed affinities set despite them not visible in the fixed affinities list. ![]() So the question is this: Why did allowing OW to use 8 cores max out my CPU and cause stuttering, even when frame-capped to 154 FPS? Or similarly, why did lowering it to 4 cores fix all the issues, and still get the same frames? Also, hope this is helpful in case anyone else has good hardware and is randomly getting CPU spikes that stutter your game. The issue: Since today, out of nowhere, Process Lasso started to lag horribly. No stutter, usage is lower, hardware acceleration on Chrome causes no issues. Lowered OW to use 4 cores and problem still fixed. Suddenly, NO STUTTERING, and lower usage. Then I tried limiting the number of cores OW uses with Process Lasso. But there was still a lot of CPU usage, and isn't hardware acceleration mostly supposed to use GPU? My GPU was not being stressed at all. I tried a bunch of things, then turned off hardware acceleration on Chrome. So why was the CPU being capped out sometimes? My framerate was limited to 154, but when I increased the framerate I was consistently hitting >400 FPS at my settings. This was causing stuttering and with my performance tab open I could see the CPU was sometimes spiking to 100% (when the stuttering was happening), usually when a lot was happening in game. ![]() I like to have a twitch stream open while I play. I have a 9700K (not overclocked) and a 1080.
